This set was inspired by the natural grace and rhythmicmovements of butterflies in flight, and depicts a pair of intricately patterned butterflies frolicking in mid-air, as well as two that have been lured by the floral aroma of the wearer to perch on the wrist. This reflects the line of poemwritten by a female poet back in the Tang Dynastythat “Butterflies come of their own accord to one in full bloom”, and creates a highly elegant aesthetic, as well as stating a distinctly feminine sense of independence and intelligence. This work also evokes the songs of orioles and warblers “dancing in the long light of spring”. This bright vernal scene of natural wonder is as visually striking as it is stimulating to the imagination.
